Lincoln police report the passing of 61-year-old Jeffry Baker, occurring Saturday following a collision involving two motor vehicles in the northeast section of the city. Law enforcement units were dispatched to the vicinity of North 48th Street and Leighton Avenue shortly before the evening hour of eight. According to initial findings, the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse, identified as a 29-year-old female resident of Lincoln, was involved in the incident. She was maneuvering her vehicle as it departed a commercial property, executing a turn onto the southbound lanes of 48th Street, during which she collided with a motorcycle traveling northbound. That motorcycle was being ridden by Jeffry Baker, who was not secured with a helmet. Baker was transported to a local medical facility but did not survive his injuries. The operator of the Traverse suffered no physical harm. The circumstances surrounding this collision are currently being examined by authorities.
