County coroner officials have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in the early morning incident involving a vehicle blaze.

He was identified as Jonathan Bailey Geers, a 28-year-old man, whose death was caused by the fire that occurred on the roadway.

The event took place around 2:40 a.m. on Wooster Pike in Columbia Township, prompting Hamilton County deputies to be dispatched to the location to assess the situation.

The affected section of the road was closed to traffic in both directions near Wooster Lane, with the closure remaining in place until the early morning hours when it was lifted around 6:00 a.m.

As the investigation continues, authorities have stated that they have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
