Fatal Trussville motorcycle collision death of Marvin Hayden
Trussville authorities reported a fatal incident occurring on Gadsden Highway near Deerfoot Parkway on Saturday evening. A pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle, leading to one fatality and injuries requiring hospitalization for two individuals.
According to Trussville Police Lt. Clint Riner, the collision occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m. on August 23. He stated that witnesses indicated the pedestrian had stopped their vehicle, exited it, and walked into the roadway before being hit.
The motorcycle was driven by a male, identified as Marvin Hayden, who was 50 years old and a resident of Trussville. Trussville Fire and Rescue transported Hayden to UAB Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death later that evening around 9:42 p.m. The female passenger on the motorcycle and the pedestrian victim were also taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Traffic authorities from the Trussville Police Department are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident. The incident happened in the 7200 block of Gadsden Highway.
