Fatal motorcycle accident on I-26 in Charleston, S.C. death of Arthur Houston

Charleston authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual killed Monday on the I-26 highway. The Charleston County Coroner officially announced that 38-year-old Arthur Houston was the victim of this tragic event. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the severe injuries he received in the collision.

Police units from the Charleston Police Department arrived at the location early Monday morning. The accident occurred on the westbound side of I-26 approximately two miles west of mile marker 218, near 1:32 a.m. According to the department’s preliminary findings, the motorcyclist lost control while attempting to navigate a curve and subsequently collided with a barrier. The investigating officers also concluded that excessive speed contributed to the incident.

The Charleston Police Department is currently leading the official probe into this fatal accident.
