Fatal Bakersfield car crash death of Chasie Aquino Carino

The Kern County Coroner’s office has officially identified the individual who lost their life in the incident as Chasie Aquino Carino, a 23-year-old resident of Delano. This confirmation came following the investigation into the collision that occurred in the southwest part of Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department’s report, emergency dispatches were received at approximately 1:20 in the early morning hours of August 24, 2025. Responding officers were dispatched to Panama Lane and Stine Road, where they encountered a serious two-car collision located west of the intersection.

Scene examination revealed significant vehicle damage and found Chasie Aquino Carino in the road, suffering critical injuries that proved fatal. Medical personnel pronounced her death at the scene, confirming the tragic outcome of the collision.

Further details from the ongoing investigation indicate that the crash involved one vehicle traveling westbound colliding with another vehicle going southbound at the intersection. The passenger in the southbound car, Chasie Aquino Carino, was ejected during the impact and was not wearing a seatbelt. This individual sustained severe injuries that were ultimately fatal.

The driver of the westbound vehicle involved in the crash suffered only minor injuries and was transported to a medical facility for evaluation. Meanwhile, the driver of the southbound car, who was ejected and injured, remains under further medical observation.

Investigators have determined that excessive speed and the influence of alcohol were contributing factors in the collision. The initial driver, a male, crossed a barricade set up by responding officers and drove into the crash area before being apprehended; tests confirmed he was under the influence, leading to DUI charges and his detention at the Kern County Jail.

Later, a second vehicle similarly disregarded police barricades, entering the crash scene and traveling against traffic. The female driver involved was also stopped and tested positive for alcohol impairment; she too was arrested for DUI and transported to the Kern County Jail.

The full scope of the incident is currently being investigated by authorities. The Kern County Coroner’s office continues to examine the circumstances surrounding Ms. Carino’s death.

The Bakersfield Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that might assist with the ongoing investigation. They encourage anyone with relevant details to contact them at (661) 327-7111.
