The Mesa County Coroner’s Office officially identified the deceased motorcyclist on Tuesday, revealing that Edward Chesnik, aged 38, was involved in a fatal collision on August 20th. Chesnik, a local resident of Grand Junction, was operating the motorcycle at the time of the incident, which occurred near the intersection of 29 1/2 Road and B 1/2 Road. An official investigation report noted that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet during the accident. He suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at a regional medical facility. The Grand Junction Police Department is currently examining the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. According to preliminary findings gathered by investigators, the driver of a southbound truck turned onto Four Corners Drive, subsequently striking Chesnik, who was traveling northbound on the roadway.
