Fatal Anderson car crash death of Susan Wheeler

Emergency dispatchers took a report at 5:30 p.m. on August 15th regarding a collision on McGee Road near North Park Drive.

When help arrived, responders discovered a car occupant who had become unresponsive. The individual received emergency care at the scene before being taken to AnMed facility, where hospital staff eventually transferred her to hospice care. Tragically, this passenger later passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Anderson County’s official investigator revealed the deceased was 83-year-old Susan Wheeler, originally from Anderson. According to the initial probe, the vehicle being operated by Ms. Wheeler was pushed into motion from behind by another car. The official cause of her death was determined to be multiple serious injuries, with the death officially recorded as unintentional. This matter remains actively being looked into.
