Justin Kresin dies in fatal Effingham motorcycle crash

Fatal Effingham motorcycle crash death of Justin Kresin

Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes reported a fatal motorcycle accident occurring in Effingham on Saturday morning. Rhodes detailed that the incident happened around early morning hours of Saturday.

As he approached the ramp connecting southbound I-57 to Keller Drive, the motorcyclist’s bike lost traction on the ramp, causing the accident. The rider sustained critical injuries that proved fatal.

He was located by a passing truck driver who promptly contacted emergency services. Efforts to stabilize his condition were undertaken, but confirmation of his death occurred at 5 a.m.

No autopsy was conducted, but tissue samples were collected for toxicology analysis. Results are anticipated in approximately three weeks.

The Illinois State Police continue their investigation in collaboration with the county coroner’s office.
