A female individual has been confirmed deceased following a transportation mishap on a major thoroughfare in the city. The fatal occurrence transpired on Saturday evening along West Broadway, with initial law enforcement assessment placing the incident time around 8:30 p.m. on the 20th of September.

According to preliminary findings from the Metropolitan Police Department, the vehicle’s operator, identified as the deceased, was moving in the western direction on Broadway when she deviated from her lane for an as-yet-unexplained reason. This departure caused her to depart the right side of the roadway and resulted in a collision with a nearby tree. During the impact, the automobile turned over onto its side, necessitating rescue efforts to free the driver. Subsequently, she was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where her passing was later confirmed.

The Jefferson County official responsible for determining causes of death has officially recognized the deceased person as Lashonda Daugherty, a 42-year-old local resident.
