Fatal Kokomo carbon monoxide exposure death of Lacy Leigha Alexander

Howard County authorities are examining the situation after discovering a woman deceased inside a pole barn on Friday. The initial report arrived around 3:56 p.m. on September 19, prompting the coroner to respond to a residence at the 1100 block of County Road East 200 North.

The woman identified by officials as Lacy Leigha Alexander, age 45, was confirmed to live at the property where the barn is located. Preliminary findings suggest that her death was likely due to an accidental buildup of carbon monoxide.

Investigators believe the probable cause was linked to her use of a gas-powered power washer while cleaning a stall within the building. Further examination is ongoing, with an autopsy performed on September 22. The final determination regarding the cause and manner of death is still pending, awaiting results from toxicology and laboratory tests.

At this time, law enforcement does not suspect any criminal activity or foul play in connection with the incident.
