Police reports indicate a Massachusetts resident met his demise Wednesday due to a severe collision on New Hampshire soil. The incident occurred along Route 119 in the vicinity of Rindge. This tragic event resulted in the death of 52-year-old Richard Pezzolesi from Winchendon. The other involved driver, 24-year-old Robert Adams from Ashburnham, suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Law enforcement officials stated the fatal confrontation transpired shortly after 9 p.m. Pezzolesi was attempting to navigate a left turn onto Old Ashburnham Road when he encountered Adams. The opposing vehicles collided head-on. Following the impact, the pair of automobiles traversed together for a considerable distance before finally stopping beside the roadway. Subsequently, one of the involved automobiles experienced ignition, leading to a fire at the crash site.
Adams demonstrated presence of mind, managing to exit his own vehicle independently, as per police accounts. Compounding the scene, a third motor vehicle sustained substantial damage while attempting to pass through the wreckage, leaving it disabled.
