The Colorado State Patrol has identified the deceased as Michael Keenan, an 68-year-old individual. He was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado while walking along 6400 Road in Montrose County on September 21st.

Following the collision, emergency services transported Keenan to a medical facility where he received treatment for severe injuries. According to the patrol, he was discharged from the hospital by September 24th.

Law enforcement apprehended the operator of the involved vehicle, a 21-year-old named Duarte Javalera. Javalera was transported to the Montrose County Jail and formally charged with several offenses, including failing to stay at the scene of an accident that resulted in serious bodily harm, tampering with evidence, and driving without a valid license, among other citations.
