BEACON FALLS, Connecticut – Matthew Nichola Champagne, a 23-year-old individual, passed away on the early morning of Saturday after a serious automobile accident on the northern section of Route 8 within Beacon Falls. The incident transpired approximately at 6:54 a.m. on the 27th of September, 2025, near the #21 access point.

State Police authorities reported that the driver, confirmed to be Matthew Nichola Champagne from Waterbury, lost command of his automobile while maneuvering in the left lane. The vehicle, a 1998 Honda Civic, subsequently veered off course, departed the roadway, collided with sand-filled barriers, and turned over. The fatal accident occurred on New Haven County Route 8.

The individual was declared deceased at the scene, and the next family members were informed accordingly, as stated by Connecticut State Police.
