Fatal Long Branch car crash death of Fernando Pinho

On Monday evening, a tragic incident involving a pedestrian collision took place in Long Branch. Authorities from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office reported the event on Friday. Law enforcement stated that the individual was struck by a motor vehicle while trying to cross Route 36 at the intersection with Branchport Avenue. The collision occurred at approximately 6:17 p.m.

The pedestrian was endeavoring to move from the southbound to the northbound lanes of traffic when the impact happened. The driver of the involved BMW sport utility vehicle, identified as a male, stayed at the scene. As of now, no legal charges or summonses have been formally filed in connection with the incident.

The injured person, later confirmed to be Fernando Pinho, who was 74 years old, was transported to Monmouth Medical Center. Medical personnel declared him deceased at around 8:58 p.m. that same night.
