Latrice Dodson, 46, a dedicated school crossing guard in Clarksville, Tennessee, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on December 19, authorities reported. The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on 101st Airborne Division Parkway, between Peachers Mill Road and the West Fork Bridge, when a westbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound car head-on.
Dodson, who was riding as a front-seat passenger in the eastbound vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a juvenile passenger in the same car were airlifted to Nashville-area hospitals and are in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic sustained minor injuries and was treated at Tennova Healthcare.
Dodson had served as a crossing guard for Kenwood and Ringgold Elementary Schools since August 2025, ensuring the safety of students each day. Her commitment to the Clarksville community and dedication to protecting children were widely recognized.
The Clarksville Police Department continues to investigate the crash, and charges are pending. Officials have confirmed that Dodson’s young daughter was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
