Christopher Polite dies in fatal Clarendon County, S.C. car crash
Fatal Clarendon County, S.C. car crash death of Christopher Polite – Obituary
Christopher Polite, 36, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Anthony Nelson, 45, of Manning, South Carolina, were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Clarendon County on Sunday morning, officials reported. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Plowden Mill Road near Wateree Road, north of Alcolu.
According to Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2014 Dodge Challenger traveling north on Plowden Mill Road struck a 2018 Honda Accord that was stopped across the northbound lane. While the occupants of the Dodge escaped serious injury, both the driver and a passenger in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Clarendon County Coroner confirmed the identities of the deceased, and autopsies are scheduled at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston later this week. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
