Fabiola Bedoya, 83, of Union City, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday evening, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of 30th Street and Palisades Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle.

Emergency responders transported Bedoya to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 6:15 p.m. The driver fled the scene and has not been publicly identified.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation and has located a vehicle believed to be involved, along with identifying a person of interest. Officials have not released further details as the case remains under active investigation.
