Fannie Allred, 81, of St. Louis County, Missouri, was fatally stabbed at her home on the 8500 block of Jenny Drive on Sunday morning. She was found on the floor with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Allred’s two French bulldogs were also stabbed but are expected to survive. Authorities identified her grandson, 37-year-old Ronald Allred, as the suspect. After a standoff at a gas station, Allred was taken into custody and confessed to the stabbing.
Neighbors remembered Fannie Allred as a loving and active member of the community who had recently recovered from cancer. She was known for her daily walks, church attendance, and kindness toward everyone around her. Friends described her as generous and cherished, saying her loss leaves a deep void in the neighborhood.
Ronald Allred is being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $500,000 cash-only bond. The investigation surrounding the incident is ongoing.
