Fatal Akron, Ohio homicide death of Rebecca Lee Guthrie – Obituary

Rebecca Lee Guthrie, 44, of Akron, Ohio, was killed on Nov. 28 in a violent incident at her home on the 100 block of Miles Street. Police reported that Guthrie was found on the living room floor, having been stabbed multiple times and shot, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The attack also left her 25-year-old son injured when he attempted to intervene; he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers identified Gregory Tillman, 38, as the suspect. Tillman, who had been in a relationship with Guthrie, was taken into custody shortly after leaving the residence.

Summit County authorities confirmed that Tillman has been indicted by the Grand Jury on charges including murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and possession of weapons while under disability. The case remains under investigation.
