Fatal Desert Hot Springs, California shooting death of Francisco Lemus – Obituary

Francisco Lemus, 34, was fatally shot on Sunday evening in Desert Hot Springs, authorities confirmed. The shooting occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 66000 block of Avenida Cadena, where officers found Lemus inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have arrested 19-year-old Michael Alex Dodd of Lancaster in connection with the homicide. Dodd was booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of murder. No other suspects are currently being sought, though the investigation remains active.

Authorities have not released information regarding bail or additional details about the circumstances of the shooting.
