Fatal Liberty Lake head-on crash death of Michael Higley – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that 20-year-old Michael Higley of Clayton and 61-year-old Thomas Nafe, Jr. of Athol died in a head-on collision near Liberty Lake on Saturday, December 27. The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash occurred just before 3 a.m. on Trent/State Route 290 at North Harvard Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, Higley was driving east at a high speed when he crossed the center line and collided directly with Nafe’s vehicle. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
