Merinn Purcell, 5, was killed on New Year’s Eve after being struck by a vehicle in Aiken County. The tragic accident occurred in the front yard of a home on the 160 block of Raborn Road.
Authorities say Purcell was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:36 p.m. after emergency crews and the coroner’s office responded shortly after 4 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled in Newberry next week to determine further details about the incident.
