Fatal Las Cruces car crash death of Charlotte M. Bates – Obituary
Charlotte M. Bates, 54, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died Monday evening after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk. The incident occurred near the 500 block of South Telshor Boulevard in Las Cruces.
Bates was transported to Memorial Medical Center following the collision but later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities say the driver of the Ford F-150 pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, and no charges are expected to be filed.
The Las Cruces Police Department continues to remind pedestrians to use designated crosswalks and follow safety guidelines to prevent such tragic accidents.
