Areeb Zamir, a 37-year-old man, has been identified as one of the victims killed in a series of crashes that occurred on North Central Expressway in Dallas on New Year’s Eve.

Authorities reported that two separate collisions took place within minutes of each other, involving both the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75.

The fatal incident involving Zamir happened at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the Interstate 635 interchange. Dallas police officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Zamir lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed his identity.
