Fatal Fairfax County crash death of Grant Faircloth – Obituary
A tragic accident occurred on New Year’s Eve in Fairfax County, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Grant Faircloth, a resident of Aldie. At approximately 8:25 p.m. on December 31, officers and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to a crash on Post Forest Drive at Government Center Parkway in the Fair Oaks area.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Faircloth was driving east in a 2010 Toyota Prius when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Initially, he was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. However, his condition later worsened, and he was declared critical before ultimately succumbing to his injuries.
The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident, though preliminary reports suggest that alcohol was not a factor. Authorities are still looking into whether speed played a role in the crash. This incident is among several fatalities in Fairfax County, where at least 32 people died in crashes last year. However, Faircloth’s death has not yet been added to the official total.
