A shooting on Thursday evening, December 31, 2025, in the 1000 block of South Broadway in Lexington has left two young men dead. The victims, identified as 20-year-olds Julio Vazquez and Mauricio Jenkins, were both found with gunshot wounds. The Fayette County Coroner confirmed that both men died from gunshot wounds.

The shooting, which took place around 6:30 p.m., initially left one victim dead at the scene, while two others were severely injured. Tragically, one of the surviving victims later succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll to two. Lexington police responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

The shooting occurred in a shared parking lot near the Lexington Clinic, which was closed at the time.
