Fatal Ashland shooting death of John Grehn – Obituary

John Grehn, 61, was tragically shot and killed inside his Ashland home on New Year’s Day, January 1. Police confirmed his identity on Friday after responding to the incident.

Around 2 p.m., officers and firefighters were called to a residence in the 100 block of East Liberty Street after the homeowner, who was unharmed, dialed 911. Upon entering the home, authorities found Grehn deceased from gunshot wounds.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being held in the Ashland County Jail. Investigators have gathered evidence, and the county prosecutor’s office will review the case. A dog found unharmed at the scene was taken into custody by the county humane society.
