Las Vegas, Nevada Man Joshua Johnson Arrested in Clark County for Fatal Hit-and-Run

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Joshua Johnson, a 31-year-old resident of Las Vegas, was arrested in Clark County in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Johnson was taken into custody on Saturday following an investigation into a pedestrian crash on Boulder Highway, south of Whitney Avenue. Authorities say the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 31, when a pedestrian walking southbound in the storage lane entered the right travel lane and was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.

Police say the driver continued northbound after the collision and did not stop. The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where they later died despite life-saving efforts. The victim has not been publicly identified.

Johnson was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and is currently facing hit-and-run-related charges. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
