Portland, Oregon Man Christopher Woods Arrested in Multnomah County for Grocery Store Stabbing and Robbery

PORTLAND, ORE. — Christopher Woods, a 51-year-old resident of Portland, was arrested in Multnomah County in connection with a stabbing and robbery that occurred at a local grocery store on New Year’s Day.

According to the Portland Police Department, Woods was taken into custody Thursday morning during the investigation of an attack at a Safeway store on Southeast 122nd Avenue. Authorities say the incident took place on Thursday, when a 77-year-old man was assaulted and stabbed while using a restroom inside the store.

Woods was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and is currently facing charges of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery related to the incident.
