Authorities in Plano are investigating a deadly traffic collision that took place along Dallas Parkway on January 3, 2026. Nathaniel Molina, a 20-year-old from Dallas, Texas, was killed after the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and struck a concrete power pole.
Plano police officers and Plano Fire-Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene around 12:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash. Investigators said Molina was driving a silver Hyundai Accent southbound at an extremely high speed when the car hit a curb and veered off the road.
The vehicle then slammed into a concrete power pole before continuing into a nearby car dealership lot, where it collided with an unoccupied Subaru Legacy. Following the impacts, the Hyundai caught fire.
Bystanders at the scene pulled Molina from the burning vehicle before emergency crews arrived. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police stated that speed is believed to have played a role in the crash. No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles occupied by people were involved. The Plano Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
