Fatal Victoria car crash death of Marcos Ybarra, Roxana Ybarra, and Roberto Barrera – Obituary

Three Coastal Bend residents lost their lives following a major traffic collision that occurred over the weekend in Victoria, authorities confirmed.

Victoria police said the victims were identified as Marcos Ybarra, 46, and Roxana Ybarra, 50, both residents of Robstown, along with 78-year-old Roberto Barrera of Corpus Christi.

The deadly crash happened around midday on January 17 along U.S. Highway 59 North. Officials released details of the incident two days later.

According to early investigative findings, a truck-tractor hauling a semi-trailer collided with a Toyota Sequoia occupied by the three Nueces County residents. After the initial impact, both vehicles went on to strike three additional vehicles, one of which was a Freightliner.

Emergency crews transported three other individuals to the hospital with injuries that have not yet been fully assessed.

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the three people who died were related.

Police say the investigation remains active as they continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
