Michael Mishaw dies in fatal Jackson, Michigan shooting

Authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed on the east side of Jackson as 49-year-old Michael Mishaw. Mishaw was found with gunshot wounds to his upper torso behind a party store at the intersection of East Michigan Avenue and Orange Street and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson police reported that officers arrived around 8:45 a.m. after a passerby called 911 to report Mishaw’s location. Earlier that morning, around 2:13 a.m., shots were reported in the same area, but police were initially unable to locate any victims or evidence at that time.

Investigators have identified three persons of interest in connection with the shooting and are actively interviewing them as the investigation continues. Police are treating the incident as a homicide and urge anyone with information to contact Jackson Police Detective Thomas Tinklepaugh or Crime Stoppers.
