Fatal Aiea crash death of Rayleen William – Obituary

Rayleen William, 27, of Kapolei, was killed Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision on the H-1 Freeway near the Kaamilo Overpass in Aiea. The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of H-1 and involved three cars.

Authorities reported that William was riding in the open bed of a truck when a 56-year-old driver rear-ended the vehicle. The impact ejected William onto the roadway, where she was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was also in the truck’s bed at the time.

The truck’s driver and remaining passengers, including a 30-year-old man with four other passengers and a child, were transported to the hospital with varying injuries. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office continues to review the cause and manner of William’s death.
