Fatal Dinwiddie hit-and-run death of Linwood Earl Williams – Obituary

Linwood Earl Williams, 75, tragically died Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Boydton Plank Road in Dinwiddie, Virginia. The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. near the Aldi Distribution Center while Williams had exited his vehicle in a turn lane and was speaking with the driver of a stopped tractor-trailer.

Williams was hit by an unknown northbound vehicle while standing in the travel lane and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver responsible fled the scene, and police currently have no description of the vehicle.

Authorities are investigating the possibility of alcohol involvement and are asking anyone with information or who witnessed the crash to contact the Virginia State Police.
