Fatal Tucson pedestrian crash death of Nancy Rivera – Obituary
Nancy Rivera, 43, of Tucson, has died after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Ajo Way. The Tucson Police Department reported that the incident occurred on the evening of January 27 around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Ajo Way and Valley Road.
Rivera was crossing the street mid-block alongside another pedestrian when she was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities confirmed no one else was injured in the crash.
Investigators noted that Rivera was not in a marked or implied crosswalk at the time of the accident, and preliminary findings indicate that neither speed nor impairment played a role. The Tucson Police Department continues to examine the circumstances of the collision, and no charges or citations have been issued at this time.
