Fatal New Bedford car crash death of Ruby Quiro Santos – Obituary
Ruby Quiro Santos, 23, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, has died following a multi-vehicle crash on January 30. Santos was pronounced dead at the hospital on January 31 after sustaining injuries in the incident.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, Santos’ vehicle became disabled in the left lane of Route 18 North. Another motorist and two New Bedford police cruisers stopped to assist. As Santos and another woman approached the stopped vehicles, a car struck both women before colliding with the other vehicle and a police cruiser.
The second woman involved was hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
