Fatal Pima County pedestrian crash death of Rosendo Ojeda – Obituary
Rosendo Ojeda, 73, of Pima County, Arizona, was killed Saturday night, January 31, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing North Sabino Canyon Road near East Sabino Hollow Court. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported that another pedestrian, a woman, was also hit and transported to a hospital with injuries expected to be non-life-threatening. Evidence suggests a second vehicle may have been involved in striking Ojeda before leaving the scene. Authorities believe the suspect vehicle is a blue 2002–2006 Toyota Avalon.
Investigators stated that speed and impairment did not appear to be factors for the driver of the first vehicle, and the case remains under investigation. Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact 911.
