Fatal Meridian road rage shooting death of Israel Castrejon Trejo – Obituary
Israel Castrejon Trejo, 27, of Nampa, Idaho, was killed Sunday afternoon, January 26, in a suspected road rage incident near the McDonald’s at 195 E. Central Drive in Meridian. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot multiple times.
Meridian police said the confrontation likely stemmed from a traffic dispute on Interstate 84. Witnesses and potential video evidence indicate that Castrejon Trejo, who was unarmed, was shot while retreating from the suspect, 23-year-old Jacob Streat of Nampa. Streat has been arrested and charged with felony second-degree murder and is being held on $2 million bond.
Authorities reported that Streat fired more than a dozen rounds from a silver 2023 Toyota Tacoma, while Castrejon Trejo was in a blue 2009 Honda Accord. Police continue to seek additional witnesses and urge anyone with information to call 208-888-6678.
