Fatal Bangor, Maine plane crash death of Tara Arnold, Jacob Hosmer, Shelby Kuyawa, Jorden Reidel, Nick Mastrascusa, and Shawna Collins – Obituary
Authorities in Maine have confirmed the identities of all six people who were killed when a private jet connected to a Houston-based law firm crashed at Bangor International Airport last month. The victims were identified as Tara Arnold, 46, of Texas; Jacob Hosmer, 47, of Texas; Shelby Kuyawa, 34, of Hawaii; Jorden Reidel, 33, of Texas; Nick Mastrascusa; and Shawna Collins.
The Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner released the names of four victims following forensic examinations, while the remaining two individuals had earlier been confirmed through investigative reporting. All six occupants of the aircraft died as a result of the crash.
The deadly incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on January 25, when a Bombardier Challenger 600 aircraft overturned and caught fire during takeoff at Bangor International Airport. Flight tracking data showed the jet had arrived from Houston earlier that evening, touching down shortly after 6 p.m.
Bangor International Airport is commonly used as a refueling stop for private jets traveling between North America and Europe due to its geographic location. The aircraft involved in the crash was scheduled to continue on to France before the accident occurred.
Records indicate the jet was registered to a corporation that shares a Houston address with the personal injury law firm Arnold and Itkin Trial Lawyers. One of the firm’s founding partners is listed as the registered agent for the company that owns the aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Officials expect a preliminary report to be released within several weeks, while a final determination may take more than a year to complete.
