Fatal Bessemer car crash death of Timothy Knox, Sr. – Obituary
A 68-year-old Bessemer resident lost his life after a single-vehicle collision, authorities confirmed. Timothy Knox, Sr. was driving alone when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Dartmouth Avenue.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred around 10:44 a.m. on February 2, 2026, in the 1300 block of Dartmouth Avenue. Knox sustained severe injuries as a result of the impact.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Knox was pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m., not far from where the collision happened. No other vehicles or occupants were involved.
The Bessemer Police Department has opened an investigation to determine what led to the crash and whether any contributing factors played a role.
