Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a single-vehicle collision in Bon Homme County last week. Isaac Ogle, 50, was declared deceased at the scene following the crash that occurred southeast of Avon on Friday.

According to early findings, Ogle was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound along 407th Avenue near 303rd Street at approximately 3:25 p.m. when he lost control of the car. The vehicle veered into a ditch on the east side of the road before overturning and eventually stopping in a nearby field. During the crash, Ogle was partially thrown from the vehicle and suffered injuries that proved fatal.

Officials reported that Ogle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, noting that details released so far remain preliminary.
