Fatal Malibu car crash death of Hunter Langley – Obituary
Hunter Langley, a 16-year-old student, lost his life early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash along Malibu Canyon Road. Authorities said the incident occurred when the Tesla he was traveling in left the roadway and went down an embankment.
Emergency crews were called to the area just north of Potter Drive around 7:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Despite the response, Hunter Langley was pronounced dead at the scene, officials with the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified Hunter Langley as the victim. He was a student at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, where his passing deeply affected the school community.
In response to the loss, Sierra Canyon School canceled all athletic activities scheduled for Wednesday. This included the Mission League boys’ basketball tournament final against Notre Dame, as students and staff took time to mourn and honor Hunter Langley’s memory.
