Fatal Nashville domestic shooting death of Tariq Anderson – Obituary

Tariq Anderson, 22, of Nashville, was fatally shot early on February 4 during a domestic-related incident at a North Nashville residence on Hydes Ferry Road. Authorities reported that Anderson, identified as the former boyfriend of a woman living in the home, allegedly forced his way inside after knocking on the front door and a bedroom window.

According to the woman, Anderson pushed past her and approached her current boyfriend, 39, at which point gunfire erupted. The current boyfriend left the scene following the shooting. Anderson was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing. A chaplain is assisting with notifying Anderson’s next of kin, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Metro Nashville Police.
