Timothy Joseph Moreno, 47, was pronounced dead after his 2004 Kia Rio left the roadway and struck a tree on southbound Wible Road, just north of Phillips Road in south Bakersfield.
Authorities confirmed Moreno died at the scene around 6:30 a.m. The exact timing of the crash remains unclear, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, which identified the victim. Officials are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
