Fatal Pueblo County, Colorado shooting and motorcycle crash deaths of Joshua Charles Herbert and David Camargo – Obituary

Joshua Charles Herbert, 39, was shot and killed on the evening of Feb. 7 at the Days Inn on 4201 N. Elizabeth Street in Pueblo following an argument that escalated, marking the city’s first homicide of 2026. Pueblo police responded to the scene around 6:34 p.m. and found Herbert with a fatal gunshot wound.

Earlier that day, David Camargo, 64, died in a motorcycle crash near the Colorado State Fairgrounds. The wreck occurred around 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Arroyo and Euclid avenues. Officers arrived to find Camargo injured and transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Both incidents are under investigation by local authorities, and court proceedings related to the shooting are scheduled for later this month.
