Fatal Hall County shooting death of Matthew Clayton Arthurs – Obituary

Matthew Clayton Arthurs, 30, was shot and killed at his family home in Flowery Branch, Georgia. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office reported that the shooting occurred in the 4800 block of Rose Heights Drive, off Cash Road, in a residence he shared with his brother and parents.

Authorities say the father discovered Matthew in the basement on a sofa with gunshot wounds shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators believe he was injured late Monday night and later succumbed to his injuries. A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

Cristofer Daniel Arthurs, 36, Matthew’s brother, remained at the scene and was taken to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. He has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault in connection with the death.
