Eliseo Mendez Gomez dies in fatal South Dakota Ortley crash
Fatal South Dakota Ortley crash death of Eliseo Mendez Gomez – Obituary

Eliseo Mendez Gomez, 33, of Summit, South Dakota, died Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash six miles southeast of Ortley. Gomez was driving south on 452nd Avenue near 147th Street when he lost control of his car, veered into the east ditch, overcorrected, and the vehicle rolled.

Authorities reported that Gomez was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from his 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. He was alone in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
