Fatal LaSalle County shooting death of Concepcion Herrera – Obituary

Concepcion Herrera, 50, of Streator, was found dead Monday on a rural property in Utica, according to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office. Herrera had been reported missing in January after a nearby crash, during which he was last seen fleeing the scene on Jan. 11.

Law enforcement officers, including deputies from the sheriff’s office, conducted repeated searches in the area over the past month. Authorities have scheduled an autopsy for Wednesday, and the circumstances surrounding Herrera’s death remain under investigation.
