Authorities have identified Lori Ann Carreon, 54, as the victim of a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in Long Beach’s Bluff Park neighborhood. Carreon, an occupational therapist who lived less than a block from the scene, was struck while riding her bicycle.

 

Police said the incident took place around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Second Street and Redondo Avenue. Christopher Bryant, 40, of Los Angeles, was driving a gray 2025 Hyundai Sonata and reportedly ran a stop sign while traveling at high speed. Bryant collided with Carreon, sending her flying off her bike and into the windshield of a parked car, before fleeing the scene.

 

On Wednesday, Bryant turned himself in at Long Beach Police Department headquarters. He was booked into jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, hit-and-run resulting in death, and reckless driving. Bail was set at $50,000.

 

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather details.
