Fatal Midland hit-and-run death of Liborio Garcia – Obituary

Liborio Garcia, 67, of Midland, died Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Midland Drive. Police responded around 6:58 p.m. to the intersection of Midland Drive and Dengar Avenue, where Garcia was found dead in the northbound lanes.

Officers later located a white Ford Escape with extensive front-end damage at the Summer Hill Apartments, and witnesses reported that two individuals fled the scene.

Jordan McLaughlin, 23, was identified as the driver and admitted to leaving the scene without providing aid. He was arrested and charged with collision involving death. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
